A heartfelt “thank you” to all who have supported this worthwhile mission with your time and donations. Needless to say, as the economy has worsened, our clientele list has grown. We are now a member of the Central Virginia Food Bank. As a member we can purchase items at a much reduced price. This is a blessing because to stock the shelves even with donations was costing several hundreds of dollars weekly.
Even though we can purchase MOST items at the CVFB, a number of items are usually unavailable---- cereal, jelly and pasta, and pasta sauce. These we need weekly as we try to have various items that will enable them to make several meals. Donations of these items are needed weekly.
If you do donate—remember, for jelly—SMALL sizes, many of our clients are elderly who live alone, same for cereal, no sugar if possible. Of course, we are happy to accept any item you wish to donate. IT WILL BE USED.
We also need a donation of EMPTY egg cartons. Sometimes there are eggs available but the are not in cartons. This will make distribution easier. Baggies of all sizes are needed. Many times we get things in bulk and have to divide--- least expensive ones will do nicely.
