Happenings:
This Week in Worship, What Do We Do Now? What happens when you finally reach a goal? Do you stop or do you keep going? Jesus calls us to keep moving forward and to keep growing in our faith. Join us this Sunday as we answer the question, “what do we do now?” Bring a Bible and bring a friend.
Summer Worship Schedule Begins, June 3rd Starting on Sunday June 3rd our worship schedule will be as follows:
9:00 AM Traditional Worship10:30 AM Contemporary Worship
We are very excited about this and will share with you in the weeks to come ways that you can help. If you have questions about why we are doing this click here to read a letter from Pastor Gordon and Church Leadership Council Chair Bob Riggan written to the church.
St. Matthew’s at Johnny Rockets, May 21st, 5-10 PM Who wants a hamburger and a milkshake? Join St. Matthew’s at Johnny Rocket’s in Short Pump on Monday May 21st. 15% of sales will be donated to the Children’s Ministry of St. Matthew’s.
Children’s Ministry Needs Help with Summer Sunday School and Nursery Starting June 3rd, we will offer Summer Children's Church for preschoolers (must be potty trained) - rising 2nd graders during the 10:30 am service. We will use a one room format for these children utilizing the Group Publishing All-In-One curriculum, which is super easy to teach! The children will begin in the worship service and then be led downstairs to the classroom. Please sign up to teach at least one or two Sundays this summer, especially if you have children in this age group. Your presence in their class and your participation in their faith journey is so important! Prior teaching experience is NOT necessary! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0944ACA72BAA8-childrens
Please sign up to volunteer in the infant/toddler nursery.
Jesus
took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his
arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name
receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent
me.” (Mark 9:36-37)
Your
role is to provide safe, secure, nurturing, clean and efficient care to
our children. Your volunteer responsibilities include playing with the
children or directing their play, reading to them, praying for each
child, and exhibiting Christ-like patience and love. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0944ACA72BAA8-summer
